5 Fun Things to Do in Everett

5 Fun Things to Do in Everett

If you’re considering moving to Snohomish County or just planning a visit, Everett deserves a spot on your list. Located about 25 miles north of Seattle, Everett is the seventh largest city in Washington State with a population of around 110,000.

Founded in 1890 as a bustling lumber town, Everett later became a major hub for aerospace manufacturing thanks to Boeing. Today, the city blends history, industry, and a thriving local culture that makes it a great place to live and explore.

Here are five of the best things to do in Everett—straight from a local who grew up here.

1. Catch a Game or Show at Angel of the Winds Arena

Everett’s premier event venue, Angel of the Winds Arena, opened in 2003 and is home to the Everett Silvertips, our beloved Western Hockey League team.

But hockey isn’t all you’ll find here. The arena also hosts concerts, comedy shows, and even professional bull riding. Whether you’re a sports fan or just looking for a fun night out, there’s always something happening downtown.

2. Grab a Slice at Brooklyn Bros Pizzeria

Right across the street from the arena, you’ll find one of Everett’s most popular food spots—Brooklyn Bros Pizzeria. Known for their authentic New York–style pies, Brooklyn Bros has been serving locals since 2006.

The Everett flagship is where it all began, and it’s still the perfect spot to grab a quick slice before a game or settle in for a casual meal. My personal favorite? The Bowery—but you can’t go wrong with any of their rotating specialty options.

3. Stroll the Everett Waterfront

For fresh air and stunning views, the Everett Waterfront is a must. The area features more than four miles of scenic walking trails, restaurants, and boutique shops.

Throughout the year, the waterfront hosts 75+ events including live concerts, outdoor movies, art festivals, car shows, and half marathons. If you’re staying overnight, check out Hotel Indigo in Fisherman’s Harbor—a stylish hotel right in the heart of the action.

4. Escape to Jetty Island

Just a short ferry ride away, Jetty Island is home to the longest sandy beach in Puget Sound. It’s one of Everett’s best-kept secrets and a favorite summer getaway for locals.

From July 5 through early September, you can catch the seasonal Jetty Island Days ferry for just a few dollars. The island has no electricity or plumbing, making it a true unplugged escape. Plus, it’s a hotspot for kiteboarding if you’re feeling adventurous.

5. Experience the Historic Everett Theatre

To round out your day, head to the Historic Everett Theatre. Built in 1901, it’s the oldest operating theater west of the Mississippi and still going strong.

With seating for 800, the theater regularly hosts concerts, comedy acts, stage productions, and film screenings. It’s a rare chance to enjoy live entertainment while stepping back in time.
